Main responsibility
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainability initiatives with the company’s tenants and suppliers, especially in mainland China (e.g., outreach to tenants and suppliers, formulation of collaborative projects, support for events, impact reporting).
Other responsibilities
- Collect data on the company’s Scope 3 emissions to support its annual reporting, and help formulate and implement plans to reduce the company’s Scope 3 emissions;
- Support and help advance initiatives and disclosures related to circularity, waste and water management;
- Contribute to continual improvement of the company’s performance and evaluation in major ESG ratings, including but not limited to S&P Global CSA, GRESB, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual Sustainability Report and other publications;
- Monitor and advise on emerging trends in ESG ratings, standards and evaluations, especially in mainland China;
- Support wide-ranging internal efforts to integrate sustainability throughout the company, including support to the function head in formulating recommendations to top management and the Boards;
- Support the function head in communication to internal and external stakeholders including support for various presentations; and
- Perform other duties as assigned, particularly in support of ESG priorities and major initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above, ideally in Sustainability, Environmental Science/ Management, Social Science, Public Policy, Real Estate Management, or other relevant disciplines
- At least 8 years of experience as an ESG analyst, and/or in a corporate sustainability role, and/or in sustainability consulting, ideally with demonstrated successes in change management
- Strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative mindset, with a track record of working effectively in teams and a willingness to build relationships with people of various levels and backgrounds
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with an ability to tackle problems in a structured and systematic manner, and an adaptive, flexible mindset

- Familiar with sustainability index assessments (S&P Global CSA, GRESB, CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good, etc.) and ESG disclosure standards (GRI, HKEX, ISSB, TNFD, etc.)
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin; Cantonese will be an asset)
- Based in Shanghai with some travel expected to Hong Kong and other cities in mainland China
